God is so great that He can use anything to accomplish His purposes in the earth. However, just because God can use someone, does not necessarily mean that person is useful. Being useful and simply being used are different. A useful person abides before the Lord in such a way that they are always available for the Lord’s use. Not only that, but the useful person knows God’s heart in the matter at hand. They know why God does a certain thing and they also know how He is doing it.

Some Christians fall back upon the fact that God’s ways are higher than man’s ways. Certainly that is true, but this is not to say that God does not desire us to understand His ways. It only means that we must step up to a higher place in order to understand what God is doing in us or around us.
